A Walk to the Park

After swimming with Kayla all day Wednesday, Alesa invited us to go to dinner with her and Brighton, so we did that and then both Kayla and Brighton came over to spend the night at my house.  The first thing they (mostly Kayla) wanted to do was visit the horses that live near our place.  We walked over there and were pleasantly surprised to find that now they have not only horses, but 2 ostriches, 3 llamas, tons of bunnies & turkeys & chickens, 2 goats (and one of them is a really cute baby goat), and some sheep!  I can't really understand why they have all those animals, but it's fun to see, feed and pet them.  I forgot my camera on both of our visits, but next time I'll of course get some pictures of that.

I set up the air mattresses so they had a big bed to sleep on and they fell asleep in the front room.  I thought for sure they would come wake me up at like 7am, but they actually slept until past 9, which was so nice!  After visiting the little zoo again in the morning (Thursday, July 14), we went to my parents' house and took the dogs on a long walk to Murray Park where the kids played on the playground and swings for a few hours.  We got snow cones and had a fun day together.  By the time we walked back to my parents' and Alesa came to get them, they were pooped!  It was a really hot walk to and from the park and a good thing I brought tons of water and Gatorade for them because they drank it all!  I love hanging out with my niece and nephew and I'm grateful I have some extra time this summer to do that (before Tony and I have our own baby).

On our way to the park we stopped at my sister's work to say hi.
