Welcome to: That's Pinteresting!

I have seen lots of blogs talking about Pinterest.  I can't remember when I joined it, but probably about 2 months or so ago.  People say it's really addicting, but I still spend way more time looking at blogs than at Pinterest.  However, I do love "pinning" all my favorite blog ideas to Pinterest, so in that way, yes, I use it all the time.

Anyway, I recently found this blog that I love looking at, and she does a weekly Pinterest re-creation post that I thought was really fun, so I'm going to do it, too.  I'm not going to "link up," though.  I just want to do it for fun for my own blog and for myself.

Oh yeah, that reminds me.  Remember how I used to have a "fashion blog" and then all the sudden it just disappeared?  Well, I kind of had a love/hate relationship with that blog.  It was really fun in some ways, and it helped me want to get dressed and try to look cute on a more regular basis... but almost every single day I felt guilty because I just kept thinking about how I could be using my time for better things.  You know that "Good, Better, Best" talk from Elder Oaks?  (If you don't know it, but would like to, you can read it here.)

I knew that having a fashion blog wasn't bad in and of itself, but just because it's not bad doesn't mean that it's a worthy use of time, you know?  So I had enough of those thoughts and feelings that I just decided to shut down that blog and I really haven't had any desire to get it up and going again.  (I realize that any form of blogging could be considered a waste of time, but taking pictures and editing and posting them is actually a lot more time-consuming than I thought it would be, and just doing it for a bunch of pictures of myself felt really... um... selfish? - and I also had to have Tony take the pictures all the time, and even though he loves playing with the camera, I still felt guilty constantly asking for his time just for that blog.)  So, in case you were wondering, that's why I don't do that blog anymore.

BUT....  I still love looking at other people's fashion blogs and thinking of cute ways to wear clothes.  That superficial stuff is just a part of who I am... I JUST CAN'T STOP LIKING CLOTHES (and purses and jewelry and shoes and all cute accessories)!  I always pin my favorite blog outfits to my Pinterest, but then I never do anything with those pins.  So, I'm excited to have this new segment on my blog.  I'm going to call it "That's Pinteresting!" (I just made that up when I woke up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom last night - I know someone else probably has already used that title somewhere, but still, I made it up for myself.)  I'm not going to link it to other blogs and I don't care who follows it or likes it or hates it - it's just something fun for me.  And I'm just going to do it whenever I want - sometimes weekly, sometimes more, sometimes less.  Oh, and it doesn't have to be clothing/fashion, it can be crafts or recipes or any idea I got from a blog or a pin from Pinterest.

So, after that LONG and really detailed introduction, I am pleased to present my very first "That's Pinteresting!" post:

This was a pin I found a few months ago.  I actually can't remember if I found it as a pin or just on the blog directly and then pinned it.  I always forget which came first.  Usually it's the blog first and then I pin it.  I thought it was really cute and I made my own version of it all the way back in August.  It turned out really cute and is probably my most favorite Halloween decoration in our house.  Here's my version of it:

The ribbon looks navy blue in those photos, but it's actually black, and I like it a lot better black (instead of the orange used on the original idea).

I hope you liked today's segment of "That's Pinteresting!"  Next time there won't be so many words, okay?

PS- Not sure why the pin isn't linking to the blog, but it came from Tatertots and Jello.

That's so fun! I love how it is candy corns on a string AND makes your fireplace look like a monster mouth!
I love Halloween!!

That's funny - my husband said they reminded him of monster teeth, too, when I first hung them up. I like that look, too! Thanks!
